Girls Trip is a mobile app designed to simplify group travel planning through streamlined booking, in-app messaging, and secure payment.

Challenge

Group travel is often hindered by aligning schedules, managing payments, and coordinating preferences. Users want a simple, collaborative platform that removes friction and enhances the excitement of traveling together.

Goal

A platform that allow users pick a destination, invite friends or family, and manage all aspects of their trip in one place.

Simplify Planning: Create a seamless experience for booking, communication, and payments all in one place.

Collaboration: Encourage shared decision-making and input from all travelers.

Payment Transparency: Eliminate the confusion of covering group expenses alone.

Design an app where all travel payments and planning are seamlessly shared among friends.

How might we

Target User

Gen Z, Millennials, and friend groups who want a simple, all-in-one way to plan, book, and manage group trips without the stress of juggling apps or tracking shared expenses manually.

Gen Z Traveler

A digital-first traveler who wants convenience, low-stress planning, and an easy way to split costs and track plans with friends.

Group Planner

The go-to organizer who manages group logistics, bookings, and follow-ups. Needs shared tools to gather input, finalize plans, and keep everyone on track.

Go with the Flow

Rarely plans but loves joining group trips. Wants quick access to key info, costs, and updates without being buried in group chats.

Market Analysis

For this project, I look did a market analysis and identified gaps in existing travel sites and payment platforms. To what users encounter when planning a trip.

Structure

This flow walks users through discovering tailored travel packages, reviewing trip details, inviting friends, and completing a shared booking. Streamlining the planning process while maintaining transparency and ease of use.

Onboarding

From the start, our goal is to personalize the user experience based on preferred destination, interests, and budget. This helps us understand our audience and offer tailored recommendations.

Travel Package

Packages are designed for small groups (2–4 friends), including flights, hotel, and activities. Everything’s pre-arranged making planning effortless and fun.

Messaging

Plan trips together in real-time without switching apps. You can start a group chat with your friends to share deals and coordinate plans.

Group Payment

Once the trip is confirmed, everyone gets a payment request. It’s simple, upfront, and transparent. Gone are the days of one person covering the whole cost.

Reflection

This project provided valuable experience in mobile app design, from concept to prototype. Designing Girls Trip taught me how to optimize for mobile screens. Prioritizing visual hierarchy, text legibility, and one handed interactions. This approach has shaped my approach to inclusive design

Color Contrast: Emphasizing accessibility with compliant
color schemes.
User Experience: Designing for one-handed use with
intuitive interactions.
Prototype Refinement: Adapting to feedback and improving usability.
